Difference between Latest and Recent

Hi, everyone!

Could you answer the difference between recent and latest?

Is the word latest pick up only one? Or can we say 'latest 10 items'?

Is the usage of the word newest is just the same as latest?

And can I use 'recent' on both single and plural case?

Thank you!
