Difference between "i am going to need" and "I need"

Hi! I saw a line in CSI. I am not that sure what the difference is

between "I am going to need someone/something" and "I need someone/something".

He says " we are going to need an interpreter."

I feel like there might be a slightly different nuance when saying.

Is there anyone who makes me clear on this? Thanks in advance.

The difference is that if I say "I need X" I need it right now. If I say "I"m going to need X" I will need it at some point in the future.
