Difference between have a look and take a look

Is there any semantic (or any other) difference between the expressions 'have a look' and 'take a look'?

I don't think so. It may be a simplistic assumption, but I think the former is British and the latter American. I may be wrong. They're pretty much a matter of preference now, though.

To me, "have a look" seems less immediate than "take a look." It might not happen as soon, or it might take longer to complete.
