What is the main difference between these two?
For example, when I want to express that a movie was too dark/ scary for me (again, I use
for).
Should I say
The movie was too dark for me or
The movie was too dark to me?
When I think about,
for me sounds very selfish, although the movie was not made for me, I just express that FOR me it was dark, FOR some other person the movie would seem alright.
It's almost like:''For you, it seems normal, but for me it doesn't.'' or is that sentence wrong, too? Should it be
to instead of
for?
But
to me sounds a bit clumsy in my opinion. In some other sentence, like ''Why are you so mean to me?'' it's logical to use
to, but if a sentence expresses opinion, then I often don't know whether I should use
for me or
to me, the same is with
for you and
to you.
It's probably difficult for me/ to me because in first language, Estonian, has (a) very different grammar structure.

Basically, any ideas which is better to use when I express my opinion about something?
