Difference between fiction and novel?

Hello,

I'd just like to if there is any difference between a fiction and a novel. Many thanks!

A novel is basically a prose. It may comprise ideas of various sources like fiction (product of imaginary thinking, it can adopt elements of the real life). So a novel can be fiction, but not all novels are fiction, some novels are for instance based on true storys.

Hi,

In addition, 'a novel' is long, but a short story can be just a few pages. Yet both are fiction.
