Difference between FCE and a GED for a foreing student?

Im currently studying the GED in USA , but I notice that the FCE(first certificate in english) has a certain advance level of english as well of the GED since it si required to prove that you are in a high school level, but the FCE is just to prove that you speak listen and write as well read right?... So which one would you recomend me to finish in order to go back to my country and show that I have got to learn the language in a advance or to a hight school level?
