Difference between Chat and Talk
Hello everyone, a post after a long time, this site is looking much better. Great job guys
Comming to the question...
Is there any difference between chat and talk?
In my opinion, (just opinion), chat, most of the time, doesnt relate to a specific topic but we talk about a lot of topics randomly, and we talk on a specific topic.
One more major diff i can guess is we can (possible) chat thorough text messages and we must talk through voice messages (keeping internet chat and talk in mind)
Correct me.
Experts can explain more.

To chat is talk socially without exchanging too much information. In other words, to chat is to have informal conversation.
To talk is to exchange the ideas via conversation. The other meanings of "talk" are
1.Idle gossip or rumour
2.Deliver a lecture
3.To reveal information.
e.g. If you will not oblige me, I will talk.

Chat sounds more fun and tak sounds more serious to me.
If someone says: We need to talk! I know I'm in trouble
If someone says: We need to chat! I know a friend has missed me and wants to have coffee to chat about things that have been happening lately..
