Hi teachers~
I have used 'catch up' very often and now
I have come across 'touch base.'
I don't think they are interchangeable but
I want to be certain.
I looked it up in the dictionaries and here first and what I have found so far is that 'touch base' means more like business contacts. 'You touch base with sb to see how much progress has been made.'
I found this expression in my English conversation textbook and the chapter is about conversation between two friends who finally talked on the phone after a while because they had been busy.
Is touch base very common among adults friends?
Thank you~~
