Difference?

Hi. What is the difference? I believe for the first pair, we usually put the definite article "the" before "earth" when we talk about the planet we live in, not the planet that spins around the sun in space. Thank you in advance for your help.

1. all the earth
2. the whole earth

1. all the Bible
2. the whole Bible
