died of asphyxiation

She had been complaining of breathing problem, but none of her in-laws and not even her husband took it seriously. Ultimately her condition deteriorated and an ambulance was called in to take her to hospital. She died on the way. She was pregnant when she died.

Can I say: she died of asphyxiation?

Are there any other mistakes? Thanks.

Mister MicawberYou cannot say what she died of, based on this text.  There are many sorts of breathing problems other than asphyxiation, I presume.

Thanks MM.

Since we do not know if it was asphyxiation, can we describe her death in general, saying she died of / from some sorts of a breathing problem? Or, is there any other more common word to describe i

I cannot think of anything in general conversation better than 'a breathing problem'.
