Hi ,

jam’s dead

Does that mean the first following sentence , the second or both??

Jam is dead . (dead as an adj)
Jam has dead .

(The second one is ungrammatical.)

I sometimes hear "Jam's died," for "Jam has died." ("died" as a past participle - past perfect tense)
