Die, dies, died

When do you use "dies"? Michael Jackson "dies" in LA. Is this correct? He is already dead! So how can a person "dies"?

Hi,

When we tell stories, we often use present tense.

eg A man wins the lottery. He meets a beautiful woman. He is very happy. He dies of a heart attack.

A newpaper headline often tells a story.

Best wishes, Clive
