Didn't see an opportunity / Wasn't seeing an opportunity

1. In that moment I wasn't seeing an opportunity to do <something>, this is why I didn't take that decision.

2. In that moment I didn't see an opportunity to do <something>, this is why I made a different choice.

Which one is correct? Thanks.

"didn't see" seems more likely. "in that moment" is not definitely wrong, but most probably it doesn't have quite the right tone for what you are trying to say. The sentence is a comma splice (incorrect use of comma to join independent clauses).
