After a live interview ended over the phone:

Anchorman: I'm glad she didn't advice/isn't advising people to do that.

Which is better? Why?
Both are OK.
She didn't advise . . . refers to what she did 7 seconds ago.
She isn't advising . . . assumes that she has not changed her mind in the last 7 seconds, and would give the same advise again if ask
