'didn't let her chance slip away' ??

Am I right to think that this sentence is wrong:

This time, Radford didn't let her chance slip away.

And rather it should be:

This time, Radford didn't let her (have a) chance to slip away.

Oh, please excuse me for misunderstanding it! 'Radford' sounded masculine to me. I now see that it is a surname and she didn't let her chance slip away.
