Peter asked her, "Did you see what I did?"

In reported speech, am I right if I say "Peter asked her if she had seen what he did"?

You can also say in reported speech: "Peter asked her if she saw what he did." In the US, the past is usually used in place of the past perfect, which sounds a little ponderous to American ears.
