Did you make/Have you made?

Hi teachers. What sounds best to you in the two examples listed below - "Did you make" or "Have you made"?

1)

I get served dinner by my girlfriend, who I didn't think could cook, and say:

Did you really make it yourself?/Have you really made it yourself? It looks fantastic.

2)

Later she asks me if I can eat some dessert too. I answer, "Yes. What are we having?". "Chocolate cake," she answers. And I ask:

Did you make that yourself, too?/Have you made that yourself, too?
