Did you know + tense

Did you know we've been friends for a long time?

No, I didn't know you'd been friends for a long time.

Is it okay to use the past perfect in the second sentence even though I didn't in the first?

Yes, this would go unnoticed. However, the example is a little articficial since in reality most people would say no more than "No, I didn't", or "No, I didn't know that".
