Hi, everyone.Could you tell me in what different scenarios you will use the two sentences?Did you have your breakfast already?Have you had your breakfast already?Thanks!

(1) Did you have your breakfast already?
(2) Have you had your breakfast already?

Sentences (1) and (2) are virtually identical in usage. The books will tell you that (2) is used when the speaker feels that the subject matter of the sentence is of greater current relevance (than when he uses (1)), but that is such a subtle point in this case that it is hardly worth mentioning.

If in doubt, use (2). This kind of question with 'already' always works pretty well with the present perfect.

For me, the first one sounds slightly off. I would only use the second.
