Did or do?

Hi. I'm reposting this because this didn't get answered in the last thread I made. I hope it's okay. I'm sorry if it is not.


"I might have preferred you do nothing."

or

"I might have preferred you did nothing."

Is there any difference between the two? Is the last one incorrect?
