Which one is the correct one?

A: Thank you so much.
B: Don't mention it. I did nothing more than writing an essay.
B: Don't mention it. I did nothing more than write an essay.

No. When matching a verb with a form of "do", use the -ing form only if the "do" form also has -ing. Otherwise, no -ing.

I was doing nothing more than writing an essay.
I did nothing more than write an essay.
