Did make me remember

- There were lots of changes when I got back to my hometown. There is a very big Buddha's statue and one colossal tower near my house. The pictures about the bamboo did make me remember.

- Are these sentences natural to write?

I assume you mean that the statue and the tower were built while you were away. The word "now" helps to make this clearer and improve the flow.
