Hi,I am just wondering how you say about doing Internet.Do you say like "I surfed the Internet last night" or do you say like "I did the Interent".Thanks in advance.

I generally prefer to avoid the vernacular. I particularly dislike "surfing the Internet" for some reason. So I usually just go ahead and make it more specific and meaningful:

"I researched on the Internet . . . ."
"I browsed the Web . . . ."
"I chatted online . . . ."

This also helps to break you of the habit of referring to the Web as "the Internet." The Internet is really very vast and contains much more than what is on websites. It is all communication that happens within the massive conglomeration of computers, including IRC, FTP, NNTP, HTTP, other chat mediums, email, and much more. One should therefore avoid referring to Microsoft's Internet Explorer, for example, as "the Internet." Microsoft doesn't own the Internet, after all, and even if it did, it would have failed to capture all of its abilities in its simple browser interface.
