Did I use the right tense

" I was thinking like you "

Does that convey that I used to think like this person in the past but now I don't? And is there any difference if I said "I used to think like you"

Here's the full sentence I used:

"I was thinking like you that there are not good people out there"

Thanks,
Appreciated.

"I used to think like you" implies that you once thought that way but no longer do. The other phrasing ("I was thinking, like you, that...") does not indicate what your current thoughts are.
