Did I not show you/wasn’t I showing you?

Hello.

You never show me that you like me.

My friend: Did I not show you when I drove you around, help you move etc..

Should it be “was I not showing you” or is “Did I not show you” alright?

2.scenario:

What happened last night? Nothing.

Did he not tell you that he likes you? I don’t know he did not confess his love, he simply said that he likes spending time with me.

“Maybe he confessed/ was confessing his love when he said that?”

I don’t know.

Is “was confessing” or “confessed” better in this example?

The form without contractions is perfectly natural but much more emphatic.
