Did go/went, did talk/talked. Question about Past Simple

Good afternoon, dear teachers. I have a question for you.
Speaking with some English speaker or watching some video, I can hear such sentences:
I did go to the school yesterday.
We did tell you a story.
The sentences are not important, the main thing is that I have such a construction - "S + did + V". Are these sentences correct? By the rule, I know that in Past Simple such a construction is used - "S + Ved / V2".

red train 520 I did go to the school yesterday. We did tell you a story. When you use a form of do ( do, does, did ) in an affirmative sentence, you are emphasizing what you say.

  • red train 520 I did go to the school yesterday.
  • We did tell you a story.
  • When you use a form of do ( do, does, did ) in an affirmative sentence, you are emphasizing what you say.
  • You might say do, does, or did louder than the other words when you say the sentence.
  • This is normally done to deny a negative, thus: — You didn't go to school yesterday.
