Did = completed or worked on?

Hi,

Question:
1) Does the sentence suggest "I completed my homework was in school"?
2) Does the sentence suggest "I worked on my homework was in school but homework might not be finish it when I left school"?

Sentence:
I stayed in school and I did my homework.

I don't think there's enough information in the sentence to determine with any precision whether "completed" or "worked on" is meant. I assume that the distinction is not important to the speaker who says this. Otherwise, he would have used the more specific terms
