'Did' and 'Done' ?

Hi,
Could you please help me to know if the below mentioned usage of 'did' and 'done' are correct or not?

I did my engineering from RKIT college in the year 2004.
I have done my engineering from RKIT college in the year 2004

Use did , the simple past. "In the year 2004" is a specific time period, and you cannot use the present perfect with it.
