Did a lot of computations

Hi,

“We did a lot of computing in today’s class.”

“We did a lot of computations in today’s class.”

Can I use both when I want to say that we solved a lot of equations in class?

Thank you.

  • I would not use "computation" for solving equations.
  • I think the word "computation" involves actual numbers and not symbols, as in algebra.
