Hi David, and welcome to English Forums.

Did you read Mr. M's response?

It's not a word, but it's how people often say "going to." You should not use it in careful writing except as dialog, to represent what people say. Even then, use it to show they are children or are speaking casually, even if it's how the words actually came out.

A 1950's film set in the old west has Fess Parker as a frontiersman who happens upon a widowed French lady, and he decides to help her young kids learn English (by conjugating verbs, no less). "First we start with yer aint-a-gonnas: I ain't-a-gonna, you aint-a-gonna, he aint-a-gonna", etc. That perfected, he moves on to the fixin'-tos: "I'm a-fixin'-to, you're a-fixin'-to", etc.

Phil -- have you ever seen a play called "The Foreigner"? It has a similar scene that's really funny -- someone with a strong (uneducated rural Southern) accent is trying to teach someone English with examples of common household objects -- like "lay-ump" and "fow-erk."
