Hi, I would like to know that - when I'm reading a book in English and don' t understand some words, should I check the words every time or try to get the meaning from the context?

I think, first of all you should try to get the meaning from the context. That's the way teachers usually ask their students to. Then, if you still don't understand, look it up in your dictionary.

If it's your own dictionary, put a little check by the word when you look it up. By the time you have two or three checks by it, it's time to learn the word!

Another trick, so long as the book or source is yours: circle the word in the context, write a meaning (or translation) of the word in a margine and come back to it later on to see if the word makes sense to you then.
