I have bought a new dictionary which is superb. I would recommend it to any advanced students of English. It is called Macmillan English Dictionary for Advanced Learners.

Yep, I have to agree Maj. At the school where I work, we sell that book and offer a free grammar book to any student that buys it! What I particularly like about that dictionary is that key words are highlighted in red and graded as to their importance in usage.
