Dialogues

hi,
I'm 15 years old, and I'm dutch so I can't speak English very well.
Friday I have a test, and these are dialogues I've made from a Dutch text.
I must have a good mark for the test. Can you please check if there are any defects?

1. Would you like to drink something?

I prefer an ice-cream. Can I get a Paradise Island of (gbp)1,60?

2. All right, I take a tonic

Don’t be that thrifty. Take a Paradise Island too.

3. I don’t like ice cream.

What a load of rubbish. According to me, you thinks it’s to expensive.

4. Indeed, I’m a bit short myself

OK, I’ll pay for you than.

5. No, thanks. I offered you something, so I’ll pay.

All right then, but next time I’ll pay.

6. I think you are getting a lot of pocket money.

You're right, but I earn some extra money as assistance in a big supermarket.

7. How many hours do you work a week?

Sometimes I work ten hours, but there are weeks I work more than ten hours.

8. But have you got enough time for doing your homework?

Yes, sometimes it gives some problems at home and at school.

9. I would like to have some extra money, but I'm afraid my parents will not agree with me.

I'm sorry for you, you can do lots of nice things with money. Last month I bought a CD-player

10. I'd like to have a cd-player too...

I recommend you to take a holiday job.

11. Yes, I'd like to, but everyone's looking for it. I think I will not find any job.

And in Holland, what kind of work can you do there?

12. There are several jobs in The Netherlands, like working in a factory, or a shop. Or you just want to work in a quite office.

Does that pay well?

13. I've no idea, but I think you won't earn much money, and often you have to work hard.

Are you afraid to work hard?

14. I don't mind it, when I like the work I do and when I earn enough money.

My brother works as a cashier at a filing station. He gets many tips.

15. I'd like to do something like that, I think I'm going to discuss with my parents about it.

Okay, good luck with finding a job, let's move on.
