A: Karl's had this terrible pain in his neck for a month now.
B: He really needs to have that looked at.

Q) It may be difficult for me to think of the expression B uses. If I was told from A, I would've said "He really needs to be diagnosed".
Can "diagnose" in my context replace what B says?
