Devoid

Greetings and salutations,

I have a question about the use of 'devoid'. I know that it is commonly used like this:

something that is devoid of ...

Now I wonder, is it is also possible to use it as an adjective? For example instead of saying 'an existence that is devoid of every meaning' could one also say 'a devoid existence'?

Thank you.

You can use other adjectives here like, for example, drab/miserable/precarious existence but it, of course, depends on the context.

Probably, 'empty existence' is also close to what you wish to convey.
