Developments in technology

Developments in technology have brought various environmental problems. Some believe that people need to live simpler lives to solve environmental problems. Others, however, believe technology is the way to solve these problems. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

The improvements in technology may have brought many environmental issues. Although people believed that having simple lives is the only solution, I would argue that technological advances can help to tackle these environmental problems.
On the one hand, environment is necessary thing for this life so people currently need to raise public awaraness of the issue. The first suggestion is that people should walk or use a bike rather than car for short trips. Secondly, individuals try to avoid using plastic because it is hard to recycle and shouldn’t use too much carrier bags. People can use recycled paper to save trees. Thirdly, people can take their old clothes to charity shop. Finally, people also should save energy to protect environment by switching off electricity when they are not in use or go out, so that reduce the exploition of fossil fuel, nuclear power and natural resources. Additionally, public people should join in the annual event called Earth Hour where everyone is asked to turn off their lights for one hour.
On the other hand, I believe the developments of technology can greatly contribute to environmental protection. Firstly, people are able to recycle materials as paper or glass, which reduce the problem of waste disposal. Secondly, people can build plants that utilize solar energy to generat power. In the future, Viet Nam will put waste disposal machine in lake, river or canal….
In conclusion, people must protect environment for one sky have fresh air. While technological advances are more and more modern to help to solve environmental pollution, people also aware protect this life.
