a) "The room is always under watch by a security guard for a period of 6 hours, who afterwards is replaced by another security guard for the same time span, and so on."


b) "The room is always under watch by a security guard for a period of 6 hours, who afterwards is replaced by another security guard for the same length of time, and so successively."
