Destiny linked to

Is the first sentence correct?

I don’t know if “destiny” and “linked you” are correct in this context?

My destiny is linked to that of the director. If he leaves or is fired, I will not stay.

What do you think of “intertwined with” instead of “linked to”?

Thanks
