  1. Despite/In spite of the truth being bitter, I'll always tell you what I think.
  2. Despite/In spite of the drought being terrible, we helped thousands of African farmers increase their corn yields.
  3. -----------------
  4. Despite/In spite of me liking Mike, I can't stand his mother.
  5. Despite/In spite of my liking Mike, I can't stand his mother.
  6. Despite/In spite of liking Mike, I can't stand his mother.
  7. ----------------
  8. Despite/In spite of my running fast, I couldn't keep up with them.
  9. Despite/In spite of me running fast, I couldn't keep up with them.
  10. -----------------
  11. Despite/In spite of their being strong, we'll defeat them.
  12. Despite/In spite of them being strong, we'll defeat them.
  13. ------------------
  14. Despite/In spite of it being, I'll do my best to help them.
  15. Despite/In spite of its being, I'll do my best to help them.

Thank you,
