Despite rolling back

Hi

Could you please tell me if this sentence is natural? Any other suggestions are welcome.

There are only highs and absolutely no lows in our friendship, despite it rolling back more than 30 odd years.

Thanks,

Tom

Hi Mr Tom

I think that's a fairly natural idiom. It's slightly unusual, but it sounds OK to me:

- We must live with what we have: we can't roll back the years

You would probably find that only in speech or casual writing

Best regards, Dave
