Desperate pleas, fervent in the view

What fits more for "Pleas"
As it appears here a message had been sent, entreating aid for the Navahos
Or Urged?
Or like in for Prisoner's plea?

For "Fervent in the view" Uf didn't understand it so well

I thought about "Fanatical fan" for fervent? I didn't understand "in the view"

"As 2006 rolled on, the requests poured in -urgent, desperate pleas from Democratic candidates fervent in the view that a visit from Obama would be their fiscal and political salvation."
