Desire to be inspired

Hello,

I was watching a video in youtube about a guy, who traveled through south america in a bike only. suddenly the thing popped in my head was what if I could do it in my life someday.

so my question is if the below expression grammatically correct or not?

'If only I could do something remotely close to this someday.'

Thanks

zhossain if I could do it in my life someday. I'd say these in that situation: - I wish I, too, could do that someday in my life. Or I wish I, too, could get the opportunity to do that (travel through south America on a bike) someday in my life.

  • zhossain if I could do it in my life someday.

  • Or I wish I, too, could get the opportunity to do that (travel through south America on a bike) someday in my life.

Thank you so much Tomj.

Is there any way to express the feeling that- although I wish I could do it, but I know I can never do that. That's why I use the word 'remote' in the first place.

zhossainbut I know I can never do that.
The sentences that I gave you earlier (in my previous post) express "remoteness in possibility". The speaker thinks that something is not likely or not possible for him/her to happen, and they say "I wish I could do XYZ".

Here's another example:
Let's say somebody

'I wish I were young again ' is just perfect.
