Desirable USA name-change

This may be a wild and crazy idea, but the correct name for the "USA" or "America" should surely be "Central North America", or "Cenora" (pr. "sennra" or "sinnora") for short. This would be an accurate description of its location.
The current name is unsatisfactory: all nations consist of provinces or states which are, by definition, "united"; and America refers nominally to the entire Americas (North, South and Central), not to just one part.

Ergo, "Cenora" makes more sense than "America" or the "USA". People who live there would be called Cenoras or Cenorans.

Let me know. You must be mike3 under another name. Right? I mean, you both have some obsession with renaming already-recognized geographical features.

The name's too close to "Sonora." (Check a map of Mexico.)

Try again.

So Central North America is an accurate description of the location of Hawaii and Alaska, is it?

And if you're from Sonora, California, it might be a little confusing.

Hah, there's a Sonora not too far from where I live. I've stayed overnight there (on a skiing trip).

But the adjective that the Spanish speakers in the Americas use for the USA is "estadounidense," which means that the designation United States is no problem to them, so there is no reason for it to be a problem for anybody else, either.
So, the matter is closed.

You have misunderstood. Proper names belong to people or nations in a unique way more than they "belong" to a language as a whole.
