Desert throat....

Hi

As I was to somewhat belatedly discover, there is something called Desert Throat that professional Vegas singers know all about. Of course you don't get it if you're in the cabaret room of the Golden Nugget with the air-conditioning turned on. You can get it if you're out in the football stadium in the desert. It turned out I'm allergic to a desert weed. So I was out running in the desert, wondering why my voice problems were getting even worse.

1. I suppose "Desert Throat" is just a dry throat that you get when you sing in Vegas.

2. cabaret room - I guess it's just one of the rooms in a casino?

3. desert weed - I'm not sure if he's saying that he's allergic to some plants growing in the desert or maybe "weed" here stand for marijuana?

Thanks

Hi Avangi

So, "a desert weed" is most probably just some plants growing in the desert.

Right. The world's population seems to be becoming more allergy-prone. Look at peanut butter.
