Two days after returned home from summer holiday, my mother noticed that the house was full of dust and dirt. The corners of the ceilings of the rooms were covered with cobwebs and on which spiders were dancing. Then she decided to clean up the house the next morning. She woke up early at the crack of the dawn. Before started cleaning, she prepared a lot of cleaning tools, threw away some old stuff. My father left the house after breakfast for work rather early and we stayed home with my mother together.
“Little man, I'm going to clean house today. would you like to help me with the cleaning?” she inquired.
“Of course, I do mother” replied I.
“Now you go to the bathroom downstairs and start filling the buckets with water. When I call you, bring them one by one, understood?” she pointed. I nodded in silence, went to the bathroom and started filling the buckets.
"Bring them upstairs" exclaimed my mother.
“Coming mother,” I shouted, grabbed the bucket on the handle and carried them to upstairs one by one. She wiped all the furniture with a wet cloth then changed the cushion covers, swept and mopped the floor with the water I carried her with buckets. She was working as busy as a bee. By noon, we were exhausted in sweat. We gave a small break for something to eat. By three o'clock in the afternoon, we were done with the cleaning and the house looked spick and span. My mother and I were sank in the sofa by the window for while to get some rest. Although we were exhausted, we felt happy and proud with the clean house. Because we knew that a house is not a home but since it is our and we perspired for it to be our home which is where our hearts are.
