Describing some terms...

Salaam and good evening to all of you (morning to some).

I could not figure out about a few terms that really fit in the sentences.

1) Which one is more appropriate? A pantie or underwear?
2) When you are describing a menstrual cycle and leaks, what are the terms that are formal but appropriate?

Sorry, I have some assignments on dealing with periods. So, I need to know the correct terms to describe everything Emotion: smile

Thank you!

The word "panties" is typically used in the plural, although it is singular in meaning, meaning one pair of women's lower undergarments. " The word "panties" - and "underwear" too - is often used in a ribald sense, and so it would probably not be appropriate for a formal article such as you describe. In such an article you would use technical/scientific-type language such as: undergarments stained as the result of menstruation.
