When describing holiday activities, do you use the past simple or past progressive?
Example:
I swam, ran, relaxed.
I was swimming, running, relaxing.
Example:
I swam, ran, relaxed.
I was swimming, running, relaxing.

Unless there is a specific reason to use the past progressive, the simpe past is better.
