describing a puzzle

I am writing a report on an activity in a nursery school.
A child is playing with a jigsaw puzzle with a boy on it. Can you please help me to correct this  last sentence which does not sound natural to me? I tried to jot down some options but I don't think the situation is improvingEmotion: embarrassed

a) A child is playing with a boy puzzle
b) A child is playing with a puzzle with a boy on it
c) A child is playing with a puzzle with a boy in it
d) ????
