The line graphs illustrate the enrolment of international students and resident students in Australian universities from 2001 to 2010.
Overall, the amount of overseas and local students enrolled in Australian universities grew steadily. However, the overseas student enrolments rate rose higher than residents.
In the 'overseas students' graph, as can be seen, the line increased slightly. From 2001 to 2006, the amount climbed 15000 and 20000 respectively. In 2008, 2009, and 2010, it rose to 30000 and 40000 sequentially.
In contrast, the other demonstrates local student's enrolment increased and decreased during the period. From 2001 to 2002, it grew considerably from nearly 200000 to approximately 225000. The enrolment rate dropped gradually from 2003 to 2006. In 2007, 2008, it rose slightly to around more than 200000. And it backed to exactly 200000 in 2009 and 2010
