Describe the temperature

Recently I am learning about how to describe a temperature of something. I think I can use "It is XXX." XXX is the temperature adjectives. After studying, I think XXX can be...

(1) hot
(2) warm
(3) mild
(4) cool
(5) cold

Am I right? Are those adjective appropriate and popular to use in US? Any other adjectives are also popular to use? Any adjectives can be used to describe even hotter or colder?

These adjectives, with the exception of cool , are more likely to be used with the word weather rather than "temperatures". "Cool weather" means good weather and not "chilly weather". With "temperature" high, low and mild seem ok.
